From the supplier: The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has criticized insurance companies for relying on credit ratings obtained from private companies before providing insurance. NAIC commissioners said that the use of reports and scores obtained from Fair, Isaac and Co. are proprietary systems which could well contain false biases. Insurers said that the scores, which test an applicant’s financial stability based on past credit history, are a good indicator of future defaults.
